With over 28 years of hands-on experience in the real estate business, including practicing as a real estate attorney and serving as a commercial real estate broker, Michael has a proven track record in creating value.  He specializes in acquiring, repositioning, developing, and operating commercial, multi-family and mixed use properties.  Michael was the Alan Dershowitz Fellowship Award Recipient at George Washington University Law School where he graduated in 1996 with a J.D. He graduated from Binghamton University in 1993.

Michael served for over a decade as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lower East Side Business Improvement District as well as actively participating as a Committee Member for over 15 years at the Northwell Health Foundation - Cohen Children’s Hospital.

Managing Partner - Chief Investment Officer & Head of Capital Markets

Jason has been an active real estate investor for the past decade, working for institutional owner/operators. He started his career at Hines in 2013, covering mixed-use development deals in international emerging markets. In this role, he worked on over 6 million SF of assets across the retail, office and industrial sectors. In 2016, he joined Shorenstein Properties where he was most recently Vice President in the Investments Group covering office and mixed-used acquisitions, development, and asset management across the East Coast. In this role, he executed on 10 million SF assets.

In addition, Jason has been an active advisor to and investor in Viver Properties, a preeminent student housing firm based in Boulder, CO.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate. Jason remains an active member of the alumni association and serves as Senior Market Representative for NYC. In addition, he serves on the young professional committee for the Sunrise Association in Long Island.

Jason is an avid tennis player and golfer and is a Founding Partner of Broomsedge Golf Club in South Carolina.

Chief Operating Officer

Michael is a lifelong entrepreneur and operator with a passion for building impactful businesses. While studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he launched his first venture, Pure Cycles, a bicycle manufacturing company. Over the course of 10 successful years, Michael led the company to sell over 250,000 bicycles in more than 50 countries. During this time, his leadership and innovation were recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30, cementing his status as a rising star in the business world. Pure Cycles was eventually acquired, allowing Michael to shift his focus to his next entrepreneurial journey in the fitness industry with Maverick Community.

In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Michael has been investing in real estate for 20 years, further expanding his business acumen and portfolio. He also served as Board President for the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, where he fought for safer streets in Los Angeles for bike riders, advocating for policies and infrastructure that promote cycling as a safe and sustainable mode of transportation.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011. He remains deeply connected to his alma mater, giving back by mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs through the business school’s alumni association.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Michael is an avid triathlete. He recently relocated to Carbondale, CO, with his wife and two kids in pursuit of a simpler, nature-focused lifestyle.

Analyst

Nick has developed a strong foundation in real estate and finance. As an Analyst at Keating Capital, he was instrumental in acquiring over $5 million worth of properties along the East Coast. Nick received his Bachelor’s in Finance from Binghamton University in May of 2024, where he was an active member of the university's Finance and Real Estate Society on campus.

Nick is also a passionate poker player and powerlifter, balancing his analytical mindset with a passion for fitness and strategy.

Property Management

Kris Travis has called Gunnison home since 1989 when she moved to attend Western State College. After falling in love with the Gunnison Valley and its surrounding mountain towns, she decided to stay, get married, and raise her two children in the area.

With a broker's license and a background in real estate, Kris transitioned into managing storage units over 16 years ago, where she’s found great fulfillment in helping the community during times of transition.

When not managing the facilities, Kris can be found hiking, cross-country skiing, and spending time with her family.

Business Ops

Jimmy ensures the efficient execution of marketing and administrative functions, specializing in streamlining workflows, managing agendas, and keeping the team organized. With a background in sales and coordination, he has developed expertise in website positioning, lead generation, and digital marketing strategies, including SEM and SEO.

He transitioned from the legal field into marketing and sales through continuous learning and hands-on experience.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing football and tennis, as well as following the stock and forex markets.
